About Kibion

Kibion is a growing dynamic company and world-leading supplier of breath tests to diagnose the stomach ulcer bacterium Helicobacter pylori (Hp).

The company was founded in 2005 as a subsidiary to the Swedish pharmaceutical company Orexo AB, enabling a focus on new inventions for the diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori.

In 2011 Kibion acquired the German company Wagner Analysen Technik GmbH (WAT). WAT is a leading manufacturer of IRIS^® instruments for diagnostic breath tests. The integration of the two companies turns Kibion into a complete solutions provider of both diagnostic breath tests and instruments, with a leading position in Helicobacter pylori tests.

Innovative solutions

Kibion, whose name originates from the old Nordic “Kibi” meaning smart and alert, is aiming at always offering the most innovative solutions. The company is at current current supplying its high quality instruments and products to institutions, hospitals and laboratories in more than 50 countries around the world. The company is also continuously evaluating new business opportunities within its field of operations.

Location

Kibion is based in the university town Uppsala, just north of Stockholm. The Uppsala/Stockholm region is a center for biotechnology and life science in Sweden. In Uppsala more than 50 biotech companies are situated along with universities, the academical hospital and the Medical Products Agency.

The German subsidiary, previous Wagner Analysen Technik GmbH, is based in Bremen.
